The Geocaching Capital of Canada GeoTour is a collection of 150 fun to find caches. Spread out through the Municipality of Highlands East, these caches will take you along quiet hiking trails, beside beautiful lakes and to interesting historic sites and points of interest.  The GeoTour caches can be downloaded for your GPS in one handy file from geocaching.com or find it on your phone app by searching for GeoTour GT5D.

Some are whimsical, some are wacky.  Some will have you scratching your head, while others will double you over in laughter. Be sure to read the descriptions for each cache they often contain valuable instructions and information, such as the hours that Cache #83, Check It Out is available.

If you are new to the game we'll get you started. Drop by the Visitor Information Centre in Wilberforce (mid May to Thanksgiving) for a 15-minute GeoTour tutorial. For just $5/day you can rent a GPS preloaded with coordinates, a map showing all the cache locations and a binder listing the cache details.

Download or pick up a passport

Download and print a passport (be sure to print it in landscape orientation) or, pick one up at any one of these locations within the Geocaching Capital of Canada:

  • Visitor Information Centre, Wilberforce - N45 02.190 W078 13.410 -Open May to mid October daily 10:00 to 4:00, closed Tuesday and Wednesdays (Sundays 1:00 - 4:00)

  • Agnew’s General Store, Wilberforce - N45 02.267 W078 13.383

  • Cardiff Country Store, Cardiff - N44 59.557 W078 00.912

  • Lucky Dollar Store, Gooderham - N44 54.416 W078 22.735

Inside each of the numbered 150 caches will be a code word. Record the number and code word on the passport as you find the caches.

Claim your reward

When you’ve found 25 caches, pick up your free GeoTour Achievement Certificate and claim your first sticker. Add additional stickers for your 50th and 75th finds. Proudly claim your red ribbon at 100 GeoTour caches found! Your completed GeoTour Achievement Certificate can be framed and displayed as an awesome souvenir. 

Find the final 50 caches to complete the full 150 caches of the GeoTour and claim your bonus reward: a GeoTour 150 coin which can be picked up at the Visitor Information Centre or Agnew's General Store in Wilberforce while quantities last (please, one coin per household).

Handy files you can download

We have a list of all the caches and their descriptions.
And just to make life even easier, we have maps of the area showing the locations of caches.
We have a map that prints on 2 pages of 8.5" x 11".  You can trim and overlap them to get one large map.
If you have access to a large printer you can print out an 11" x 17" map.
